The banks of the Wye were buzzing today as Monmouth Regatta burst into life, kicking off a packed weekend of racing with over 60 events and more than 150 thrilling races. The sun shone (mostly), the cakes were plentiful, and the competition was fierce — just the way we like it.

Our own Monmouth crews gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about. Andy and Harry glided to glory in the men’s coxless pair, showing impeccable timing (and not just with their paddling). Meanwhile, Lottie made waves in the women’s singles, rowing like a rocket to claim victory and a well-earned slice of lemon drizzle.

The fun isn’t over yet — racing continues tomorrow from 9.30am over the fast and furious 750m course. So bring your sunscreen, your loudest cheering voice, and maybe a brolly (just in case). See you by the river!
