Monmouth Rowing Club invites you to host your next training camp on one of the most beautiful and peaceful stretches of water in the UK – the magnificent River Wye, right in the heart of the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

✨ The Perfect Water & Location

• Pure Rowing Focus: We boast a beautiful 2,500m stretch of river, including a fantastic 1,500m virtually straight run. With minimal powered traffic (mostly just our club coaches' launches and the occasional school crew), you can truly focus on your technique—though the scenery and frequent kingfisher sightings might be beautifully distracting!

• Go the Distance: At higher levels, explore upstream for approximately 6km all the way to the local landmark, Biblins Rope Bridge.

• Accessibility: Easily reached from the Midlands (M50/A40) and the South (M4/A449).

• Clubhouse Comfort: Our comfortable club room is perfect for warm-ups, meetings, or just relaxing, complete with a large kitchen ideal for prepping hot food and drinks.

• Top-Tier Training: Access our gym with 18 well-maintained ergos, 2 static bikes, and free weights.

• Convenience: Hot showers available all day, changing rooms, and ground-floor toilets.

• On the Water Support: Utilize our two well-maintained 15hp motor launches with console steering, plus a smaller Rib.

• Logistics Made Easy: Large private area for trailer parking, boat storage, and rigging.

🛒 Town Convenience - Right Next Door!

We know fuel for performance is key. Our location couldn't be better:

• Less than 200m to the nearest pub! 🍻

• About 500m to the vibrant high street with independent shops, M&S, Waitrose, and Iceland.

• Lidl is also conveniently located just across the river (approx. 600m).

🏨 Stay Awhile: Accommodation Options

While we can't offer accommodation ourselves, as a popular tourist destination, Monmouth offers plenty of choices for all budgets:

• Hotels: Premier Inn, Wetherspoons, and independent gems like Riverside, The Punch House, and Creates Boutique Hotel.

• Self-Catering: Plenty of Airbnb's and country cottages.

• Camping: A nearby campsite offers yurts/tents (Monmouth Canoe Centre), or, for those on a tight budget, we can organize access to one of our fields for basic camping (no facilities).

🗓️ Unrestricted Access (Outside Term Time)

Plan your camp knowing that outside of local school term time, you will enjoy 24-hour unrestricted access to all club facilities! (During term time, changing room access is restricted to early morning and late afternoon for safeguarding).
