From the Wye to Lake Bled: Monmouth RC Takes on World Masters!
Greetings from beautiful Slovenia!

The Monmouth Rowing Club invasion of Lake Bled is officially underway. We’ve packed up our kit, made the journey across Europe (superstar Paul, Colin and Ewart for towing), and set up camp beside one of the most stunning rowing venues on the planet.

With over 20 club members making the trip and a staggering 50+ races lined up over the next five days, the Monmouth colors are going to be practically everywhere on the water! From early-morning pairs to frantic late-afternoon eights, our rowers are primed to leave everything out on the lake.
Sun, Sweat, and Impending Storms
Today gave us a glorious taste of Alpine paradise. We managed to squeeze in some last-minute practice under bright blue skies, getting a feel for the course and fine-tuning our catches with the famous island church as our backdrop.
Of course, it wouldn't be a classic rowing regatta without a little weather drama. The forecast for tomorrow is threatening heavy rain and thunder, which should make for some character-building racing. But let’s be honest—after years of training on the River Wye through Welsh winters, a bit of Alpine rain isn't going to stop us!

We’d love to have your support from afar as we race through the heat sheets all week long. Keep track of all our crews, timings, and live streams here:
Wish us all the best of luck (and maybe a little mercy from the weather gods). Send us your loudest cheers from back home—we'll do our absolute best to bring home some silverware!

Go Monmouth! 🚣♂️⚡️
