We are thrilled to announce a major upgrade to how we manage our time on the water and in the gym. Starting this week, for all outings beginning Saturday, 17th January, Monmouth Rowing Club is moving away from Google Sheets to a custom-built, in-house booking system integrated directly into our website.
Why the Change?
While Google Sheets served us well, our club’s needs have evolved. Currently, over 75% of our members access club information via mobile devices. We wanted to provide a "mobile-first" experience that is intuitive for rowers and powerful for coaches. This new system streamlines crew planning for our Intensity, Rowing, and Social groups, making the logistics of rowing as smooth as a perfect stroke.
Key Features: Your Three Main Hubs
The new system is divided into three easy-to-navigate pages:
Signing up for a session now takes just a single click.
* The Next 20: View the upcoming 20 sessions at a glance.
* Filter & Focus: Easily filter by rowing group or specific races.
* Boat Race Colors: To give you instant visual feedback, a session tile will change from dark blue to light blue once you’ve successfully signed up.

This is your central command for sessions and races, featuring three distinct sections:
* Upcoming Schedule: A table of every session you are currently signed up for.
* Crew Allocations: View your specific crew, boat, and blade assignments. You can also see who else is on the water, read coach comments, and watch the session briefing video (replacing our current WhatsApp briefings).
* Video Feedback: A dedicated section for coaching videos taken of you during your sessions, allowing for better technical review.

Help our coaches help you! This page allows you to:
* Update Contact Details: Keep your address and info current.
* Skill Self-Assessment: Rate your skills (None, Low, Medium, or High) across sweep bowside, sweep strokeside, sculling, steering, and coxing. We’ve included a short guide to help you choose the right level.
* Weight (kg): While we know this feels personal, providing your weight is vital for coaches to balance crews and select the most appropriate boats for the weight of the crew.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How do I cancel a Sign Up?
You can cancel with a single click on the "My Sign Ups" page until the session is closed (usually a few days prior). If the session is already closed, please message your RoCo (Rowing Coordinator) lead directly.
Q2: Why can’t I access the pages?
These pages are member-only. You must be logged into the Monmouth RC website. If you've forgotten your details, look for the login/password reset links at the top of the page.
Looking Ahead
This system is designed to help you plan your entire year—race sign-ups are already live through September 2026! We hope this makes your experience at the club more organized and enjoyable.
